黒松内町立体育館

黒松内町はめぐまれた森林資源に囲われ、ブナの自生北限の里として知られ、非常に環境意識の高い町である。町に整備された市街地と森を繋ぐフットパスは、町が森と向き合い、森と共に生きてきた証である。「高齢者にやさしい中山間の都市」の実現に向け、スポーツを通して地域住民が世代を超えて交流を深めていくことは、地域社会の活性化を促し、地域住民相互の新たな連帯を促進させる。さらに、住民が地域に誇りと愛着を感じることで、人間関係の希薄化を解消し、地域社会の再生につながる。黒松内町の将来像を見据え、「町民の力」と「自然の力」そして「黒松内ならではの力」を発揮する新体育館を実現した。

Kurumatsunai Town is surrounded by abundant forest resources and is known as the northernmost habitat of native beech trees—a community with a deeply rooted environmental consciousness.
The footpath that connects the town’s central area with its surrounding forests symbolizes the town’s long-standing relationship with nature and its way of life in harmony with the forest.
In pursuing the vision of a “mountain town friendly to the elderly,” this project encourages intergenerational interaction among local residents through sports, fostering social vitality and strengthening community bonds.
By nurturing pride and affection toward their hometown, residents are expected to rebuild human connections that have become fragile and to revitalize the social fabric of the community.
Looking toward the future of Kuromatsunai, the new gymnasium embodies the combined forces of the people, nature, and the unique spirit of Kuromatsunai itself—a place where the town’s collective energy finds architectural expression.
