函館市亀田交流プラザ

計画地は、函館市の主要動線となる産業道路と道道347号線の交わる付近にあり、業務ビルや物販店などが立地する亀田地区の生活中心ゾーンを形成している。まちに点在する役所施設の統廃合を目的とする今回計画においては、広域的な利用に配慮した施設づくりが求められた。こうした背景を踏まえ、すべての人に開かれた、活動の息吹を地域に対して発信する生活・文化の交流拠点となる施設をめざした。また、施設の複合化の大きなメリットは、多くの利用者が施設を訪れることにより、新たな交流の機会が生まれることや、目的以外の活動にふれることで、新たな意欲や興味を誘発されることにあると考えられる。複合化の相乗効果を高めるために、カフェを併設した交流ホールや明るく活動的な空間となる講堂を人通りの多い産業道路に沿って配置し、さらに、講堂や体育室は、上階より活動が見える計画とし、文化活動を通して町民が集い、繋がり、地域の一体感や活力を感じ取れる計画とした。

The project site is located near the intersection of Sangyo Road, one of Hakodate’s main traffic arteries, and Route 347, forming part of the Kameda district’s central zone of daily life, where office buildings and retail stores are concentrated.
This project was initiated to consolidate and integrate various municipal facilities scattered throughout the city, requiring the creation of a building that can serve a wide range of users from a broad area.
With this in mind, the design aims to create an open civic facility — a hub for everyday life and cultural exchange — that radiates a sense of activity and vitality into the surrounding community.
One of the major advantages of such a multi-purpose complex is that the diversity of users naturally generates new opportunities for interaction. By encountering activities beyond their original purpose, visitors can be inspired with new interests and motivations.
To enhance these synergistic effects, the community hall with a café and the bright, dynamic auditorium are positioned along the busy Sangyo Road. Furthermore, the auditorium and gymnasium are designed so that their activities are visible from the upper floors, fostering a sense of openness. Through cultural and communal activities, the facility becomes a place where residents gather, connect, and share in the vibrancy and unity of the community.
